Feature Project: Reroof the Hogsback Hotel

Reroof the Hogsback Hotel in Metal Roof Sheeting: Featured Project

A hail storm damaged the roof of the historic Hogsback Inn and Bosazza Roofing & Timber homes was contracted to reroof the hotel. The new roof had to match the aesthetics of the location.

The Hogsback Inn is steeped in history, dating back to it’s construction in 1880. It is the oldest hotel in Hogsback. The hotel offers accommodation, a restaurant and pub, conferencing and weddings. All in the idyllic setting of the Hogsback mountains. Owners Mark & Linda were in the process of upgrading the hotel facilities when a hail storm damaged the roof tiles. We were contracted to reroof the hotel, replacing the tiles with a suitable alternative.

Old Cape Dutch House Converted from Thatch to Roof Sheeting

Thatch Roof Conversion by Bosazza Roofing & Timber Homes

We converted this old Cape Dutch style roof in the Eastern Cape, from Thatch to Roof Sheeting

This thatch roof conversion was on a big family home in Komani (formerly Queenstown). The roof was converted from thatch to corrugated roof sheeting, transforming the entire look of the home.

Project: Construction & Installation of Tiled Roofs at Viskop Private Resort

On 19th September 2014 a savage fire spread through the coastal resort of Viskop situated at the mouth of the Chefani river in Chintsa; fanned by a strong south-westerly wind the fire ripped through ten thatched houses of the total twenty-two in a matter of minutes. Luckily no-one was physically harmed in the fires but the homeowners suffered losses of a multitude of possessions as well as huge damages to their beautiful holiday homes.

A thatched rondavel (or “roundhouse”) is quintessentially African – this guesthouse in the Hogsback mountains recently had a face-left to bring the traditional rondavel into a clean, modern space for guests to enjoy.

Our clients chose the Structure Stays conversion system which retains the original structure of the thatched roof but strips away all thatch. On this project we also stripped the thatching laths and installed a timber tongue and groove ceiling in the rondavel.  Continue reading “Project: Thatch Guesthouse Converted to Metrotiles, Hogsback”
